Local hero Larry Zeiger spent 33 years teaching cinema arts, musical theater, & language arts at Point Loma High School, where he cowrote & produced 33 musicals, & helped launch the musical careers of generations of San Diego youth.

Composer, author, and educator Larry Zeiger spent 31 years (1975 – 2007) as an award winning teacher in Cinema Arts, Musical Theatre, and English for San Diego Unified’s Point Loma High. Zeiger now serves on the Board of Directors for the San Diego Children’s Discovery Museum. 

Zeiger has produced two music videos – MEETCHU IN MACHU PICCHU – A MUSICAL JOURNEY featuring some of the top Salsa dancers in the United States, and AT THE BAR filmed on location in Little Italy, San Diego. He also has worked on advisory boards of several film festivals, and the Board of Directors of the San Diego Children’s Discovery Museum. He is the winner of the Channel 10 Leadership Award, San Diego Teacher of the Year, California Golden Bell Award (top visual-performing arts program in California), Old Globe Theater Award, San Diego Philanthropic Award, San Diego Film Critics Award, and his film and theater programs were profiled on CNN, PBS, A&E, BBC as well as in the Los Angeles Times, New York Post, Entertainment Weekly, and People Magazine. Zeiger even appeared on the nationally televised documentary, Quest for Excellence.
