A cherished San Diego native and Korean War veteran, Eulogio “The Soul Man” Fos has spent decades bringing people together through the universal language of music. Known for his ever-present guiro, a traditional Latin percussion instrument, the Soul Man has played alongside musicians of every genre, age, and ability—always with a radiant smile and an open heart.
More than just a performer, the Soul Man embodies the spirit of community. Whether jamming in local parks, on stage, or in intimate gatherings, he serves as a living reminder that music is for everyone. Now in his 90s, his enduring presence and joyful contributions continue to inspire generations across San Diego’s musical landscape.
